Hello Livejournal.

It's been two years and I've changed a lot.

I've missed you.

Beer&Bowling for my Birthday Bash : )

Now if only I could get all my California friends to join me...!

I'm feeling quite strange tonight...detached and removed when I should be engaged. It's nice to have a night off, and I can't wait for Sunday, a whole day off...it's been so rainy here lately, it's beautiful.

I have a couch now, so my studio is complete and starting to feel more and more like home every time. I will post pictures soon!

You know, I think it's just this time of year.

But I miss my sisters most of all. I don't miss California, and I don't want to move back.

How am I going to be 21 in a week. Already? ONLY!

So we're speeding towards that time of year
To the day that marks that you're not here
And I think I'll want to be alone
So please understand that I don't answer the phone

I live in a small town where kids who try to express themselves are considered to be doing something wrong. We can't skate anywhere without being harassed by a police officer, we can't just "hang out" around the streets without being told to get lost, to stay out of everybody else's way. I have friends who have gotten suspended from school for spiking and/or coloring their hair, have been persecuted by teachers because their political views didn't meet the teacher's own, and have even been sent home for drawing an anarchy symbol on their hand. For simply trying to voice our opinions we get kicked out, suspended, or even have the cops called on us.

Last week my friends and I decided to go to the local arcade. I was pushed back and told I could not go inside because they had a dress code. They said to me, "you can't wear ripped up pants." And since I have my bangs up into three individual spikes, they were going to proceed to "measure" my hair. If it had exceeded so many inches, you were basically banned from the place anyway. I found it ridiculous for an arcade to have a dress code. Wasn't this supposed to be a place you go to have fun?

The authority that's supposed to protect us is robbing us of our own freedom... It's become too controlling. We're expected to depend on other people to do the thinking for us, rather than using our own brains. Those of us who prefer to question it, to do things our way -- is a threat to them.

Every human is born with a free will, and to try to take that away is fundamentally wrong. There's no excuse for it. Does this piss you off? If it does, do something about it. Speak out. Don't let yourself be pushed around. Freedom of speech cannot be stopped. People can scream at us, stare at us, even arrest us... but they can't stop us from telling the truth.
